Church
of the Cross exists to glorify God and celebrate the love of Jesus by
building a great church (Acts 2:42-47) through a great commitment to
the great commandment (Matthew 22:37-40) and the great commission
(Matthew 28:18-20).
A Great Church:
"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the
fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled
with awe and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the
apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common.
Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had
need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts.
They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere
hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the
Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved" (Acts
2:42-47).
The Great Commandment:
"Jesus said, 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all
your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest
commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as
yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two
commandments'" (Matthew 22:37-40).
The Great Commission:
"Then Jesus came to them and said, 'All authority in heaven and on
earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all
nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of
the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded
you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age'"
(Matthew 28:18-20).
